German Car Specialist

Once upon a time I worked as a foreign car mechanic and even put myself through engineering school working on BMW, Saab and Japanese cars. I crewed for a British Formula Two champion and raced an SCCA IT Datsun 510. Now that was a long time ago and my knowledge isn’t exactly recent, but car basics haven’t changed.

So when I visit a shop to have the injection set on my old Mercedes wagon and they reply that it isn’t adjustable I know not to return for any reason. Or when a dealership works on my car and the amount of necessary work is more than was anticipated, but the mechanic isn’t “available” to discuss it I always feel uneasy as I pay the bill. Unfortunately, good independent shops are incredibly rare.

When Dennis Kaltenbruner, owner of German Car Specialist became a Lou’s customer two years ago I felt obligated to reciprocate, at least on a trial basis. What a revelation!

German Car Specialist is an honest shop staffed with several highly skilled mechanics and efficient, knowledgeable front office staff that deliver on your every expectation. When I had questions about work out strode the mechanic who patiently spent ten minutes with me detailing everything and explaining the reasoning behind his recommendations.

If you have a German car or Volvo and are searching for a dealer alternative or the private garage you’ve been using isn’t always there when you need them absolutely try Dennis and his group www.germancarspecialist.com. No way will you be disappointed.

Montgomery Chiropractic

Joe Kelley became a customer years ago and was one of the first local Calgarians to experience the benefits of a n altered binding position on Volkl skis. As I’ve had chronic neck issues since a major ski faux pas years ago I decided to pay him a call at his nearby Montgomery Chiropractic office.

Joe quickly became the first person to demonstrate that I could actually recline my head against the head rest of my car and the adjustments he did also had my head turning equally in both directions and set my shoulders on a level playing field. It was the end of my head spinning owl impression, but really that was a small price to pay for the reduction in pain.

At the time Joe’s office was in a uniquely styled and accessorized strip mall between Bowness Rd and the Trans Canada near Safeway. Since then he has moved to a very inviting new building across the street from the store. There is more space which includes a studio for nightly yoga and Pilates courses and I can personally recommend the Pilates. There is massage available and a machine to help stretch and lengthen the spine and reduce the effects of narrowed disc space.

Joe can be reached at (403) 247-3231.

Highly recommended!
